Through tools such as listening and observing the verbal and nonverbal components of language, the psychologist aims to obtain an accurate representation of the client's lifestyle and of themselves, through the essential filter of the theoretical approach of reference, in order to avoid subjective interpretations. The counseling relationship, which is asymmetrical and structured, represents in this perspective the place where communication takes place, which, as behavior, is aimed at achieving unconscious goals on both sides
