Abstract

The analysis of setting issues in adolescent psychotherapy reveals the absence of a specific approach in therapeutic practices, which are often guided by child or adult treatment models. While recognizing the importance of the therapist's role and the dynamics of transference, the research highlights the need for more flexible and adaptable approaches. Through the examination of three clinical cases, this personal contribution emphasizes how the therapist can serve as an identification model for adolescents, offering prospects for growth and autonomy in contrast to often limiting parental models. The importance of including parents in the therapeutic process emerges as fundamental to the success of treatment. The reworking of the mother-daughter relationship and support in the transition to autonomy become key to overcoming the inevitable generational conflict
