Contribution to three problems of existence: life, work, social interest

The results of psycho-pathological-clinical observations carried out over three years on 300 drug addicts undergoing methadone treatment at the Drug Addiction Clinic of the San Giovanni Molinette Hospital in Turin are presented.
A. The affective-sexual life was explored through a series of individual interviews, using a questionnaire, the Raking Rorschach Test, and the T.I.P.E. in relation to:
1. quantitative alterations in sexual behavior;
2. subjective judgment of these;
3. quantitative variations in these;
4. ability to distinguish between orgasm and flasch;
5. relational aspects of sexuality.
B. The following were taken into consideration for the work:
1. his affirmative role and fatigue;
2. his ability to integrate into society and provide security;
3. the involvement of complex human relationships that have brought to light a picture of social maladjustment and a distorted desire for power.
C. With regard to community interest and feelings, the following emerged, together with a picture of great discouragement:
1. the limited effect of drugs in facilitating social relationships;
2. accusations against society for not liberalizing drugs;
3. dependence on the group of drug addicts and the creation of mutual aid associations. Given the difficulties in treating drug addicts, intensive prevention measures should be taken, changing drug cultures and subcultures
