Abstract

The methodology of the two-year advanced training course for analysts as group therapy and psychodrama facilitators from an Adlerian perspective is examined. This stems from the need linked to the progressive spread of group therapies which, by their very nature, accelerate, with both positive and negative implications, the dynamics underlying interpersonal reintegration in relationships with others, which is the shared goal of all psychotherapy. The first part of the course illustrates the evolution of psychodrama and its practice, an analysis of the factors that inhibit and disinhibit participation, the main iatrogenic damage, and the proposals for change that have emerged from previous experiments. Subsequently, the guidelines of analytical group psychotherapy without psychodrama and the issues related to group formation in clinical practice are analyzed. A comparison of the two techniques shows that analysis allows for in-depth exploration of personal issues, while psychodrama seems to allow for greater evocative catharsis
