Abstract

In relation to Seligman’s and Bandura’s works, the A. points out an integrated interpretation of some cognitive and dynamic psychological concepts in order to offer a further theoretical definition of Adler’s thought, already considered by Albert Ellis as an anticipation of “cognitive therapies” and based on self consciousness. Specifically the sense of “perceived self efficacy” (Bandura) and “learned helplessness” (Seligman) appear to be intentional, motivating and teleological micro-mechanisms which affect the dynamic stimulus to balance a sense of insicurity/depreciation with a sense of self confidence/revaluation and which reveal to be remarcably useful to the clinical and social applications
