Abstract

The document is based on two main experiences conducted within psychosocial services. The first involves work as experts in psychiatry and psychology within school-based psycho-medical-pedagogical teams and psychosocial structures in industrial settings. The second concerns the facilitation of “awareness” groups as part of a training program for psychosocial workers engaged in family counselling centres and elder care facilities.

The document emphasizes the importance of dissolving rigid and unproductive professional boundaries to ensure ongoing training and appropriate professional recognition. Three International Commissions were established to translate these needs into operational terms, and three differentiated training models were proposed for analytic psychotherapists, counselling practitioners, and psychosocial workers.

The document also highlights the need for a conceptual revision and a clear distinction between analytic, psychopedagogical, counselling, and psychosocial domains and objectives. The concept of social interest is discussed, along with the risks of reductive or overly generalized interpretations, which may lead to an underestimation of the ambivalences present in every individual.

Finally, the document explores relational dynamics within training groups, noting fluctuations between conflict and collaboration, as well as the risk of mutual complacency among participants. It underscores the importance of psychodynamic training for group facilitators and the need to raise awareness among practitioners regarding their experiences of power and powerlessness
