Comparison between parent-god concepts and MMPI data

Abstract

Using the MMPI and the Q-Test, the study examines the relationship between the image of parents and that of God in 65 American subjects. The results support Adler's thesis that the concept of divinity is a concretization of the idea of perfection; in healthy subjects, the image of the favorite parent is close to that of God, while it distances itself in cases of mental disorder
