Abstract

New psychotherapeutic techniques are emerging; Adlerian group psychotherapy seems to be one of these new techniques, supported by several reasons:
1) improving patients' interpersonal integration;
2) lower implementation costs and a greater number of participants.
The aspects and assumptions of group therapy are highlighted, as are the differences with individual psychotherapy and the negative reactions that group therapy can induce in patients. The basic principles of individual psychology offer good ideas for overcoming the difficulties that can arise in group therapy and making such experiences truly therapeutic for the individual
