The article analyzes a clinical case of an adult woman with psychosomatic asthma symptoms, which appeared following a traumatic bereavement and in a family environment perceived by the patient as suffocating. The psychotherapy process is described in its various stages. The focus is on the analysis of family dynamics and the compensations put in place by the patient and her sister
