The existential balance of women in today's society, also with reference to certain forms of deviant behavior
Keywords:
female role in history, feminism, masculine protest, competition between the sexes, deviant female behavior, influence of culture on social rolesAbstract
The influence of culture and subjective experience in determining sexual roles in society according to Adlerian theory is discussed, and, citing various authors, the historical evolution of the female role from simple societies to complex Western societies is retraced. Deviant behaviors exhibited by women in an attempt to compensate for their perceived inferiority to men are described, with the narration of four specific cases, highlighting the related psychodynamic meanings. The author suggests a less egocentric interpretation of roles that would favor a more balanced and cooperative dialectic between the sexes, based on social interest in a positive sense
