Abstract

The article explores Adlerian theory in the context of phobic-obsessive neuroses, emphasizing the central role of interpersonal bonds and feelings of inferiority, particularly the lack of belonging and security in the social group, leading to compensation through obsessive or phobic behaviors. Phobic objects represent symbols of internal conflicts and attempts to maintain psychological balance. The author emphasizes the importance of fostering a sense of community and cooperation to overcome such defensive mechanisms. The article presents an analysis of two cases: the first illustrates a patient with a specific phobia linked to feelings of social inferiority. The second case concerns an individual obsessed with compulsive rituals, used to compensate for the fear of abandonment. In both cases, Adlerian theory aims to establish therapeutic strategies aimed at resolving internal conflicts
