Problems related to the intellectualization of language in the therapeutic relationship
Keywords:

The article addresses issues related to resistance in therapy, considered clear obstacles to the patient's emotional involvement and to the patient's use of the insights gained in psychotherapy for other purposes, showing clear resistance to the real therapeutic goal. These issues are addressed through the presentation of two therapeutic paths: a 24-year-old man, in whom therapy served to reinforce his dominance over others, and a young woman driven to seek therapy as a place to find advice, without any real deep investment, masked by purely intellectual communication
