Adlerian interpretation of a case of male homosexuality with voyeurism
Keywords:
homosexuality, voyeurism, compensation, inferiority, anxiety, need for approvalAbstract
The Adlerian interpretation of a case of male homosexuality with voyeurism emphasizes the complexity of the patient's psychological and relational dynamics. Through six months of analytical therapy, it emerges that the subject uses voyeurism and homosexuality as attempts to compensate for a deep sense of inferiority and insecurity. The conflictual relationship with parental figures, particularly the father, and the difficulty in dealing with his own masculinity influence his sexual choices and relational experiences. The analysis suggests that voyeuristic behavior represents a complex strategy for dealing with interpersonal anxiety and the search for approval
