Abstract

The representation of contemporary sexuality is characterized by profound ambivalence: both men and women are confronted with an unrealistic masculine ideal, fueling relational tensions and personal uncertainties. This struggle for dominance has led women to rebel against pre-established roles, while men are confronted with anxieties about their masculinity. The culture of modesty perpetuates female dependence and generates fear and stigma around sexuality, especially for women. Today, while fear of sex is diminishing on the one hand, on the other there is a growing overemphasis on it, which is often disconnected from human values and love
