Abstract

Emotional disinvestment in women can lead to Female Orgasmic Failure (FOF), manifesting as a loss of meaning in couple relationships. This work analyzes the dynamics of “meaning attachment” (catexis) and “meaning withdrawal” (decatexis), highlighting how emotional ambivalence can influence emotional bonds. Sexual dissatisfaction is often rooted in early experiences, creating intrapsychic conflicts that lead to dysfunctional communication. Through the analysis of clinical cases, the importance of targeted psychotherapeutic interventions to promote emotional reinvestment emerges. Understanding the roots of these behaviors is fundamental for the recovery and stabilization of relationships
