Abstract

The study analyzes the symbolic value of sexuality in obsessive neuroses, highlighting how erotic fantasies can represent manifestations of deep psychological conflicts. Through the analysis of a clinical case involving a 27-year-old man, it emerges how obsessive thoughts, characterized by pervasive content and perversions, block the person's activity and generate anxiety. The renunciation of a coveted career for fear of failure and the complex relationship with his parents contribute to a dynamic of compulsive thinking, which, once understood, leads to a significant reduction in symptoms and a better quality of life
