This contribution offers a critical reflection on the methods of knowledge in Individual Psychology and Psychoanalysis, focusing on the problem of truth, interpretation, and the relationship between theory and practice. It analyzes how psychoanalysis bases its scientific nature on the internal consistency of interpretation, while Individual Psychology links knowledge to social sentiment and human purpose. The authors pay particular attention to the comparison between objective and subjective conceptions, the role of insight, and the risks of epistemological rigidity, emphasizing the importance of redefining certain issues of interpretation in order to recover important dimensions in the context of the therapeutic relationship. The result is a proposal for an open, critical, and non-dogmatic clinical practice that is oriented toward integrating the contributions of the two approaches
