Abstract

The article analyzes the role of the Rorschach test in psychotherapy, comparing the symbolic approach of psychoanalysis with the critical and methodologically more cautious approach of Individual Psychology. It highlights the risk of uncritical interpretations based on universal symbolic patterns, which can distort the understanding of individual experiences. The author proposes the “associative art gallery” as an alternative procedure, capable of enhancing subjective associations and symbol analysis, thus providing, in his opinion, greater diagnostic depth. This method allows statistical and dynamic data to be integrated with the patient's personal experience, avoiding suggestive simplifications, thus becoming a clinical tool of great value
