Abstract

The article analyzes the possibilities for both theoretical and clinical convergence between individual psychology and Freudian psychoanalysis, with particular attention to the role of transference and countertransference. It emphasizes the function of feelings of inferiority as a transformative core, capable of activating processes of lifestyle restructuring. The work highlights the similarities between resistance, interpretation, and insight, while recognizing profound epistemological differences between the two models. The Adlerian approach, which is more flexible and relational, is contrasted with the rigid structure of psychoanalysis. This leads to a critical comparison which, in addition to distinguishing between the two approaches, opens up interesting prospects for clinical integration
