Abstract

The motivations that lead to suicide cannot be deduced from the statistics on the social conditions of the suicidal individual. Only from the knowledge of his psychic mechanism and his mental dynamics which correspond to those highlighted in neuroses and psychoses in which an inferiority complex arises – ambivalently – character traits of submission and manly protest, but always with the aim of obtaining gratifications of instinctive drive, role, prestige and vengeance
