Abstract

The case of a patient who, by establishing a homoerotic relationship, had fictitiously compensated for his problems with premature ejaculation is presented in detail. A multidimensional and poly-logical grid of each patient's lifestyle is presented, which includes:
1. the patient's lifestyle and his relationship with the analyst;
2. the analyst's working lifestyle with its various countertransference implications;
3. the patient's transference as it appears in his verbal expressions;
4. the influences of transference in the patient's real life. Finally, reference is made to Erikson's concept of tolerance-indignation as an essential dimension of the analytical process
