The future of Adlerian analytical psychotherapy as an adventure: two worlds to explore, adolescence and aging

In the constant transformation of society over time, Adlerian psychotherapy can offer itself as a reference model capable of integrating developments and updating itself while maintaining its basic characteristics. It can expand and fruitfully address new patient populations, such as adolescents and the elderly, who were previously considered purely from a theoretical point of view. The challenge for the Adlerian analyst working with adolescents is to facilitate their ability to plan for themselves, avoiding complacency and accepting the risk of uncertainty.
Aging, on the other hand, exposes us to the risk of reinforcing the fantasies that deny death, which are typical of modern society. Adlerian psychotherapy seeks to restore meaning to life and existence
