Abstract

The proposed contribution explores in depth the ethical and psychological issues connected to the practice of Alfred Adler's Individual Psychology, addressing various aspects: from the moral principles that govern therapeutic practice, to the importance of respecting the patient's free will, to more complex issues such as religion, sexuality, politics and the dynamics of transference and countertransference. It is essential the reminder of the importance of doing no harm as the first ethical commandment, highlighting how the Adlerian approach focuses on social and individual well-being. The author urges therapists to maintain an ethical orientation in their practice so that they can facilitate their patients' growth and healing without compromising their dignity and autonomy. This reflection represents a significant contribution to the understanding of therapeutic action in Individual Psychology and its ethical implications, emphasising the importance of a conscious and respectful practice.
