THE ADLERIAN IN SEARCH OF IDENTITY

This article presents an excursus on the history of Individual Psychology: from the reasons that motivated Adler’s interest in Psychoanalisis (an outsider and disputed theory in Vienna at the end of the century), to the reasons for the dispute with Freud, to certain aspects of Individual Psychology development. The A. underlines the style which characterized the first years of the new movement: autonomous, subject neither to conditioning, nor the exploitation, pervaded with Gemeinschaftgefül. All that, ever today, characterizes the adlerian choice. Last but not least, the A. emphasizes various differences from the USA and the European tradition, in the hope that creative inter-changes will continue in the future
