Abstract

This article was translated into Italian and published in “Psiche”, 3rd year, number 4, October-December 1914, thus contributing to the diffusion of Indivi dual Psychology in Italy. In this article Adler, underlining that children’s inclinations can be found in adult life, confirms the concept of unitary life-style. As a consequence, it’s necessary to prevent damages by educating parents, so that they can avoid typical situations which can occur through creative attitude such as:

1) abuse of authority;

2) fear of offspring increase;

3) presence of a “favorite son” and of a “cinderella” in the same family
