Abstract

In the interlacement between theory and praxis proposed by psychologies of depth, interpretation appears as a powerful form of synthesis between cognitive and therapeutic instances. More than an unidirectional communication sent by analist to patient, interpretation appears as a form of metalinguistic bidirectional and recoursive communication, which takes place inside the holistic and interactive system represented by analist and patient. In this relation, interpretation sometimes appears as a paradoxical aspect of analytic relation, proposing to the analytic couple a kind of double bind which analyst and patient have to face and to elaborate. We give some examples drawn from mythical and literary tales, and from our analytic praxis, where the need for interpretation appears as a paradox inside the relation. In particular, we expose the case of a patient asking for interpretation in a paradoxical way: an analytic interpretation seems to be able to elaborate and to dissolve the double bind within the paradox, considered as language-object, facing it with the meta-language of will of power and social feeling
