Abstract

Shine is the true life of David Helfgott, an Australian musician who lived his youth in an obsessive relationship with his father.
Moreover he will pay with a mental illness that he never got over the big inner conflicts. He will succeed in recovering and in coming back to the music thanks to a love story with an astrologer who can lead him to a more normal life. The author examines into an Adlerian keyword some steps of David’s life analysing the crucial and significative moments that have established a particular life style. The film content is a sort of revisiting of Adler concepts as cultural and religious inferiority, therapeutical value of encouragement and social feeling
