THE CONCEPT OF THRESHOLD AS THE ANSWER TO THE EXCESSES OF BIOLOGISM

Abstract

As well different ethnic groups and national identities joined to break up Austro-Hungarian empire, like already well identified psychologic currents of Adler, Bleuer and Jung joined the Freudian rising against Viennese organicistic and dogmatic academism. From then all the psychiatric thought is included between the extreme of biologism and the one of psychologism, sometimes exasperated to paranoia. However we can have some creative and original interpretative synthesis which avail themselves of both theories and which are here expressed by the concept ofthreshold and by the pragmatic idea of the interpretative psychotherapy
