Francesco Parenti's paper, with the meaning-rich title “The Threshold Concept as a Response to the Intemperances of Biologism,” highlights above all the still prevailing “confrontation-clash” between biologism and psychologism and their harmful reciprocal intemperances, when instead a desirable collaboration would benefit above all the resolution of many among the problems of the psyche, without, moreover, either approach having to be considered subordinate to the other. Our School, which, as Francesco Parenti reminds us, “is essentially based on the interpretation of fictions,” can offer its contribution to consolidate the ancient rift between organicism and dynamic psychology
