The ‘Wednesday group’ met on the evening of 29 January 1908, at 8.30 p.m., again at Freud's house, to discuss a paper presented by Alfred Adler, A Contribution to the Problem of Paranoia, the full minutes of which we were able to publish thanks to the kind permission of the Bollati Boringhieri publishing house.
The psychoanalytic movement, with its fundamental theoretical statements, essentially built around the concept of drive, has within it a centrifugal dynamism: the theory of the libidinal drive represents the centre from which the various divergent currents have radiated, one after the other, including the sociocultural model pioneered by Alfred Adler, who, in opposition to the Freudian principle of primary narcissism, claims the primacy of relations with others
