Abstract

The autobiographies of Rousseau, Casanova and Alfieri are a starting point for this work. We can find in those literary works three main themes: the communication of the real self (“Epiphany”) in Rousseau; the self healing factor existing in living the pleasure of the past again in Casanova; and finally, in Alfieri the building of the identity and the fin ding of a meaning in life. So, the technique of autobiographic narration is used with a group of children aged between 12 and 16. Using some pictures from the text “Il gioco della vita” by D. Demetrio, the authors proposed the children to develop a narration based on their childhood memories, their present, and their future prospect. The chosen method offers an important pedagogic method to explore and to grow the aspects of personality of the chosen authors, and develop the social sense
