Abstract

The relational matrix of the mind today presupposes that we renew the dynamics of the intersubjective and interpersonal relationship between caregiver and cared for in the context of an empathic relationship rather than maintaining in the realm of power a rigid use of standard techniques.
The horizon of "how to think about history," of a correct reference to the scientific method and constructivist hypotheses, must, moreover, always refer to the so-called "Adlerian supportive methodology" (als ob), which hypothetically indicates as its own lines of research and clinical practice, an empirical evaluation of subjective states, in a dimension of cultural plurality. The complexity and multiplicity of knowledge leads at the same time to the uniqueness of the individual and its comparability with others.
The hope is that all this will lead to consideration of current Adlerian proposals toward network models that include both life sciences (biological perspectives), living sciences (individual perspectives), and information sciences (communication perspectives).

This and more was discussed at the XXIII Congress of the International Association of Individual Psychology held in Turin, Italy, May 26-29, 2005
