Abstract

Over the last ten years the debate un the usefulness, functioning and indications of brief and limited-time psychotherapy has steadily increased. The Sequential Brief-Adlerian Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (SB-APP), currently in the standardization and experimentation phase, is presented as a individual-psychologically oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy characterized by a limited-time setting. It is focused on four different levels of functioning of the patient and structured in groups of sequential and repeatable sessions. In accordance with international research, this specific technique may be useful for the treatment of patients with borderline personality organization and may be effective with a positive cost-benefit ratio
