Abstract

The importance of the environment for the development of human beings is now well established. Affective neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, the social brain, goals and meaning of life highlight the relational condition of man. Among the main elements of the environment is the use of drugs, present in every culture, historical era and geographical region. Drugs exert their socioplastic effect by allowing man to go beyond his limits. This contributes, for better or worse, to social and cultural development. People who come to psychotherapy are immersed in these contextual effects of drugs, which must be considered by the therapist
