Abstract

Existentialism is not the name of a school, but a Philosophical Style, the central theme of which is human freedom. It follows that for some thinkers it should lead to extreme individualism and a call for the revision of all values. Individual consciousness would be the starting point not only of things in the world, but also of oneself (Husserl, 1959-1938). It is this characteristic that marks the subject, from which, precisely, human freedom would derive.
Jaspers' (1883-1969) Subjective Phenomenology refers to the description of the pure phenomena of consciousness, which, in addition to being bearers of experience, would also play a creative role. It constitutes the cornerstone of Existentialist Phenomenological Psychology, Psychopathology and Psychiatry
